Whether you love it or loathe it, Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's the perfect time to whip out your favourite lip products and perfect your pout. Whether you're celebrating #GALentinesDay (yes, yes this really exists), or you're off for a romantic dinner for two, or you simply could not give two hoots, I've got a lip combo that I am addicted to. Lipstick has got to be my favourite make-up product, and I will happily have about 50 versions of the same or similar shades (nudey pink or peachy pink, yes please and THANK you).

I can get a little bit lazy at times when it comes to caring for my lips but in the colder, Winter months I'm slapping on lip scrubs and balms left, right and centre. Currently, I'm loving the Balance Me Lip Quench Balm* to prep my lips and keep them hydrated and in tip-top condition. There's no sticky residue (hoorah!), it doesn't leave your lips screaming for more 30 minutes later and my lips just drink this up big time. This is thanks to the shea, cocoa and mango butters that promise to keep your lips looking and feeling beautiful without the need to continuously re-apply. It hits the Beauty Expert in the next coming weeks so do keep your eye out, especially as it's only £8 - a bargain if you ask me! I like to pat it into my lips a little, and then let it melt into my lips whilst I do my make-up, leaving the rest of the lip look till last.

Next, I line my lips with the wonder product that is Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk. I like to fill in my whole lips with this colour just to keep my lipstick 'gripped' to my lips as this way, it lasts a lot longer. Don't be scared of lip liner if you're new to it, and a pretty nude-y pink like this is much safer than a siren red! Start by gently and carefully following your natural lip line - if you feel the need to over-draw your lips, literally just do this ever so slightly! The reason Kylie Jenner's lips suit her is because she's Kylie Jenner, ok?

Usually my dream lip colour is Charlotte Tilbury's K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect - the ultimate nude-y pink shade that suits absolutely anyone. However this Valentines Day, I'm opting for the Goddess that is Rosie Huntington-Whitely's new lipstick, Nude Mink. She's just launched a huge make-up range as an extension of her Marks & Spencer's lingerie range, and oh my is it fab. No word of a lie, there were five of us at the stand watching away and trying not to elbow one another as we ooh-ed and ahh-ed at the dreamy products. Nude Mink has been touted as Rosie's favourite lip colour so naturally, it's a fab shade. If it's good enough for Rosie...

Whilst deep, dark reds are often the lip colour of choice for Valentines, I say go nude (oo-er) as really, the man in your life will most likely be far more appreciative as he won't need to worry all night about trying to rub off red kiss marks...! Plus, a red lip is always a risk whilst your slurping spaghetti or demolishing your decadent chocolate fondant dessert.

Do you celebrate Valentines Day? What will you be up to? What's your go-to lip look? Red lip or nude lip?
