Let's Talk About... PCOS

PCOS is something that is still, in this day and age, presented as something your hairy, overweight Great Aunt with a moustache has, when in fact it's quite the opposite. Currently in the UK alone, 1 in 10 women have PCOS. When you put that into perspective, that's a very significant number of women. Just imagine you're in a bar or at the gym, when you're at a party or a wedding, even when you're at work - that's a good handful of women who have this condition.

Birthday Wishes

On Tuesday I celebrated my 21st birthday. Immediately I'm expecting life to be downhill from here (I don't even know if I'm being sarcastic, ha). At the weekend, James surprised me by taking me home to see my family and my friends - something I really missed last year so I was so thrilled.
It was such a privilege to be able to see my beautiful puppy Patrick, two of my good and longest friends and of course my family, all in the space of 48 hours.

Should we listen to 'Health Gurus'?

As I mentioned in my post about what you should know about 'sugar free', we're constantly being presented with a new healthy living writer or 'guru' (if you must), like they're on a conveyor belt on rotation. The vast majority of these writers are fantastic and I really applaud their courage and passion for healthy living and getting their ideas and recipes out there to inform as many people as possible exciting and easy ways to live a healthier life.

HOWEVER. However. It seems there are still a handful of these 'gurus' (seriously, is there another name?!) that are providing us with misleading information, or seem misinformed themselves when it comes to some health related advice....

This, Not That: Bad, Better, Best

One of my favourite healthy lifestyle books is from James Duigan, the founder of the infamous Clean & Lean diet that Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Elle Macpherson and several other gorgeous leggy celebrities follow. In his book, he creates lists of 'Bad, Better and Best' foods to have, for example, when you're craving something 'unhealthy', here's your next best choice but here's the best possible choice you can have instead. I think this is a great thing to take a look at when you're new to your journey on healthy living. However, even if you're feeling pretty settled into your healthy lifestyle, sometimes those cravings for all things processed, sugary, high in mono-fats and so on, can get the better of us because we're still confused as to what really is the best thing to eat.

Beauty Lately [Video]

Considering my last 'Beauty Lately' video was pretty damn popular with you all, I thought I'd throw in some more beauty products that I've been loving (and not loving so much) lately, and turn it into a video!
